Central Georgia Technical College Lab/Classroom Facility
Warner Robins, Georgia
The 10,511 square-foot Lab/Classroom Building is located at an important area of the campus, and is developed to provide a meaningful terminus to a major view axis of the campus. The building is orientated to capture the radial geometry of the campus in the building’s entry and lobby space.
This facility is constructed using building materials and elements designed to extend and enhance the current materials found on the campus. The blue-tinted glass framed by the white curtain wall system from floor to roof along with the curved exterior walls make this the most recognizable building on the college campus. In addition, the facility includes a large covered entry and beautiful landscaping on all sides to enhance the experience of the students.
This new facility provides the college with laboratories and classroom space to better serve the students by offering a state-of-the-art learning facility. The Lab/Classroom Building adds 6 instructional areas to the campus. These areas include 3 classrooms, a modern computer lab, a college level chemistry lab and a biology lab. These spaces enhance the medical and technical programs offered by the school, which are equipped with the most technologically advanced equipment available for teaching.
In addition, the facility includes administrative offices, men’s and women’s bathrooms and a large lobby with seating for the students. The lobby includes a beautiful polished concrete floor that leads you through all of the common areas of the building.
This facility was constructed using LEED practices and received LEED accreditation at the basic level. It also complies with the requirements of the Georgia Peach Green Build Rating Program.
