In the collaborative spirit of easing the transition for students progressing from East Georgia to Georgia Southern, both institutions embarked on a two-phase renovation project, gracefully bridging the gap between their campuses. This ambitious endeavor unfolded across two active educational hubs, each with its unique challenges and opportunities.

Phase 1 unfolded at the heart of Georgia Southern’s campus, within the venerable Nessmith-Lane Performing Arts and Conference Center, a structure with roots tracing back to 1978. Working within this dynamic environment, we orchestrated a comprehensive 35,075 square-foot interior overhaul. To minimize disruption to students and faculty, temporary walls were strategically erected, allowing construction to proceed seamlessly. This transformation included a fresh coat of paint, introducing the distinctive East Georgia branding while harmonizing with the Georgia Southern environment. We also introduced new flooring and ceilings, elevating the aesthetic and functionality of the space. The renovation went deeper, encompassing a complete modernization of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, culminating in a full HVAC replacement. Energy efficiency took center stage with the integration of state-of-the-art LED lighting. Restrooms received a complete facelift, with new fixtures enhancing both form and function.

Phase 2 extended over 8,900 square feet within East Georgia’s existing 33,000 square-foot facility, rebirthing it as the new home for the Georgia Southern Continuing Education Building. This second phase ushered in a host of enhancements, including fresh paint, updated signage, refreshed flooring, and the installation of energy-efficient lighting. Spaces were thoughtfully reconfigured to accommodate functional classrooms, dynamic conference rooms, and efficient offices. An operable partition was ingeniously added to augment the utility of the conference rooms, further enhancing their versatility.

This ambitious project not only concluded on time and within budget but surpassed the Owner’s quality expectations. It stands as a testament to our commitment to elevating the educational experience and facilitating student success.
