Project Details
ICB Construction Group successfully completed the construction of a 100,000 square-foot Industrial Distribution facility for Prince Properties, LLC within Macon, Georgia’s Global Parts Distribution Facility. This significant addition expanded the existing distribution center in Macon’s Industrial Park Complex. Despite the ongoing operations of the distribution facility, ICB worked closely with both Prince Properties and Global Parts to ensure a smooth construction process that didn’t disrupt ongoing operations. Careful management of the project’s schedule was essential to ensure seamless deliveries into the new facility.
The project encompassed all aspects of construction, from civil work to finishing touches. Civil work involved creating new parking, rerouting site utilities, relocating electrical feeds, and extensive paving and concrete work. Building construction began from the ground up, with concrete foundation walls, cast-in-place loading docks, ramps, and a 6-inch thick concrete slab-on-grade. The structure itself featured a pre-engineered metal building with 27-foot eave heights, liner panels, overhead doors with canopies, and exterior masonry walls integrated into the metal exterior. The construction also included mechanical rooms and administrative spaces.
Since the new building was an addition to the existing facility, it was vital for fire protection and electrical systems to integrate seamlessly. The project’s success hinged on executing these system tie-ins without causing disruptions to Global Parts Distribution’s ongoing operations.
